When in Kelantan

I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur and my hometown, where my grandma and my uncles and aunts and cousins are, is in Kelantan. When I was younger, I visit Kelantan annually or twice a year. When my mother started to build the family’s beach resort in Kandis, Kelantan, we visited as often as once a month. After the first 20 rooms were completed, they started operating by the year 2007. Shortly after the opening, I headed to the UK to get my Electrical & Electronic Engineering Degree. I studied in Swansea University. It was such a wonderful and memorable experience. I graduated by the year 2011, I was 21 years old, I graduated with an Honours Degree. Right after i finished my final paper, my mom gave me call and asked me to come back to Kelantan and work as her resort’s General Manager. Long story short, I had to change my life completely and become a fulltime ‘mek kelate’ (Kelantanese girl).

So within the years of staying, living and working here. I had to look for some good things to do here. Honestly, there is quality of life here compared to living in the city. The pace is slower, air is somewhat better (well when you’re out of the city that is), and people actually mind their own business.

Things people do when they come over to Kelantan:

  • Search for handmade cheap batik.
    • There are 2 places to look for them
